Gynecology is the medical practice associated with the female reproductive system comprising of the ovaries, vagina and the uterus, along with the breasts. The examination of the reproductive system may involve an examination of the cervix using a speculum, evaluation of the pelvis using a rectovaginal examination, and investigation of abnormalities through an abdominal or vaginal ultrasound.
