Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary science that develops on the methods and principles of statistics, computing, mathematics and biology to analyze biological data. It also includes the study of protein structures, amino acid sequences and nucleotide sequences. Techniques such as machine learning algorithms, pattern recognition, data mining and visualization are used. Drug discovery and design, gene finding, sequence alignment, protein-protein interactions, etc. are important areas of interest. This book aims to shed light on some of the unexplored aspects of bioinformatics. It elucidates new techniques and their applications in a multidisciplinary approach.
