Danish fine art photographer Ingrid Bugge followed The Royal Danish Ballet for two years, and thus created a poetic an sensual abstraction of ballet. The art book "The Essence of Ballet" is an extravagant 140-page coffee table book containing 60 art works. The works in the book are accompanied by three great voices from the world of ballet and art. Artistic director at The Royal Danish Ballet Nikolaj Hübbe, writer and ballet critic Erik Aschengreen and photographer and founder of the Photographic Center Lars Schwander, whose wit and passion adds dimensions to the art works. Ingrid Bugge (born 1968) photographer and has had several solo projects and exhibitions, among other things "Between the Lines" at The National Museum of Photography 2012, "When Math Talks" at The University of Copenhagen 2012 and "Surrender" for Grundtvig's Church 2011. Previously she was a creative developer for ex. DR, The National Museum and Tycho Brahe Planetarium, with a focus on creating visual stories on new media and short films.
