This book is the first of a trilogy, collectively entitled Voices From the Well. Each of the three novels focuses on the unfolding dynamic of a sequence of relationships, and the emotional and spiritual growth they catalyze. Each book can be seen as one of the islands that Odysseus stops--or is shipwrecked--on (those of Calypso, Circe, and Nausicaa) during his long journey back to his wife Penelope, tirelessly weaving her web, in a remote tower of her besieged palace, at home on Ithaka.
