The number of gins released each year since 2010 has increased dramatically. While early on in the Gin Renaissance a brand was able to carve out shelf space by simply existing. By being the first distillery in somewhere-ville since 1900, by being the only distillery to use a certain botanical, but these easy wins for product developers are rapidly diminishing.This report is for those intending to design a gin based on consumer needs or wants.This report provides data on consumer preference and gin search behavior from the period of August 2017–November 2018. The report includes tables and charts of flavor preference over time, comparisons of how preferences for certain gin flavor profiles correspond with one another. Additionally, the report includes data on current gin market gaps based on drinker interest and looks forward to trends that will drive gin product development throughout 2019.
