Reseña del libro

This book is mainly concerned with Duilio Pierri s large artistic career. As an artists son, he finished his studies in the National School of Fine Arts, Manuel Belgrano and the Superior Fine Arts School, Ernesto de la Carcova.A violent, overflowing and chaotic component is always found in Pierri s painting. It is easy to discover an imbalance, a distortion and a strength appearing or struggling to appear in all his series, that is sometimes wholly evident or pervading, ready to spring, in a dormant layer. The audacity of his work begins in the tangible expressions of his colours and shapes, the way in which he paints, in gestures and strokes. Then, it goes on in the relationships, quotations, his way of mainly evoking the classicists and the Renaissance exponents as well, and finally the modern ones, especially the fauvists.
