This adaptation is based on the anonymous sixteenth-century picaresque novel, The Life of Lazarillo de Tormes, His Fortunes and Misfortunes. Divided into scenes, this version highlights the most memorable passages of the original work, from the birth of Lazarillo to his marriage. The amusing and forceful text is suitable for both individual reading and stage representation.
