This book is an exploration of the foundations of long-run economy-environment interactions and hence of the foundation of ecological economics. It deals with a wide range of issues: a new concept of evolution, time irreversibility, the emergence of novelty, and structural change. To model the above conceptualization, neo-Austrian capital theory has been adapted and extended.
