How to manage Home care agency This publication contains more than 90 policies and procedure as result of my experience and qualification in ownership of residential and nursing homes over 25 years ( at one stage I owed about six care homes at the same time) before I retired The aim and objective of all care homes and care agencies must included. To be open minded, and respective to suggestions from our service users and their representatives, staff and other professional care providers/purchasers.To promote the integration of the service in to the local community.To promote privacy, dignity, rights, fulfillment and independence and to offer as wide a choice as possible in their lives.To work as a team with other relevant agencies to provide a comprehensive care package for service users.The home or agency policy must recognise client’s right to be treated with respect and as an individual..Any person, who is physically aggressive, uses persistent verbal aggression or inappropriate sexual conduct towards the home or agency staff must be excluded from the services and refer to appropriate category of establishment.There must be effective and efficient organisation and management structure who are both qualified and experience in care with business acumen. A care home or agency Philosophy must be based upon the belief that the Service Users are entitled to be treated as individuals. Their care in their home must not be institutionalised but be safe delivery of the service. To achieve this, the needs of all Service Users must be assessed, and individual care plans are developed from this information which must be signed by the service user and the care management and be made available in the folder so that all carers will have access to it.
