Reseña del libro

In early 19th-century Germany, before a gathering in a bourgeois hall belonging to the Countess Cölestine, an avid audience listens to the romantic yet terrible stories of an elderly painter as he begins to narrate his life story about a mysterious young woman he met near Mont Blanc. La nieve is by one of the most fascinating and unique figures in German literature: Johanna Schopenhauer, mother of the famous philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. Johanna wrote this novel in her salon in Weimar, where the most prominent intellectuals flocked. She recreated this wonderful story and made the room warm, oblivious to the inclement weather outside the walls. This translation is enriched with an introduction and illuminating afterthought from translator Luis Fernando Moreno Claros.
