Lung cancer is a malignant tumor of the lung that is characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells in lung tissues. When the cancer metastasizes, it can spread beyond the lung into nearby tissues and parts of the body. It presents symptoms such as shortness of breath, weight loss, coughing and chest pains.
