Twelve-year-old Jerry Baker thinks monsters do not exist-until something strange happens in his neighborhood just outside New York City. One night after he is chased by a creature with piercing eyes, he wonders if what he has just lived through is real. When ferocious monsters appear at a sleepover with his best friend, Jerry is suddenly thrown into a terrifying world that defies explanation and forces him to rely on his intelligence to stay one step ahead of the creatures.
