Reseña del libro

Puncture began as "a magazine of punk culture" in 1982 in San Francisco. Its first issues, collected in this book, capture perfectly the spirit and style of early punk fanzines. Desktop publishing lay some years in the future; these zines were kitchen-table cut-and-paste jobs, xeroxed, hand-folded, and stapled. Their pages hum with offhand brilliance, fierce opinions, and sheer excitement, as its writers explore the music that exploded in the Bay Area in the early '80s, from punk bands like Flipper, Dead Kennedys, MDC, and Code of Honor, to the more experimental Toiling Midgets and Negativland, as well as the music being made by similarly minded bands elsewhere, such as Crass, Minor Threat, and Meat Puppets. This book reprints the first six issues of Puncture in their entirety, together with a introductory memoir by co-founder Patty Stirling and a foreword by longtime contributor J. Neo Marvin.
