Leaving provincial life in Modena behind, young Cornia heads to Rome in search of a new kind of life filled with long walks along the Tiber at twilight, nameless pretty girls on the bus to work, and discussions with roommates long into the night. Cornia lives these experiences with a sort of timid vitality and sharp humor as he seeks, in spite of precarious jobs and uncertainty, to be happy.
