Although Jesus lived only about thirty-three years on this earth, he chose the means by which he could continue to live, preach and work through his followers, working with and in them to reform this sinful, violent world into the beautiful place that God intends it to be. That means was the Holy Eucharist, a meal in which bread and wine are transformed into his very body and blood, inspiring the spirits of all believers who worthily partake of it and impelling them to go out into the world and change it for the better.
