A Note About A Few Of The Many Different Assignments Included: There is a group theme project in this unit. Students will be divided into four groups, one for each of the Pevensie children. Each group will complete worksheets about Joseph Campbell s Hero s Journey and relate that information to the journey of its character through The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. As a class, students will create a bulletin board outlining the Hero s Journey for each of the Pevensie children. There are three writing assignments in this unit, each with the purpose of informing, persuading, or expressing personal opinions. The detailed writing assignment sheets guide students through the assignments. The first is an essay comparing the Blitz to the 9/11/2001 terrorist attack as it relates to the effect on children. The second is to write an essay about modern heroes based on newspaper articles students read. The third is to create a character journal for one of the Pevensie children.
