Reseña del libro

In May 1973 three intrepid hippies set out on a mildly spiritual quest for the soul of Ancient Albion by walking from Reading to Glastonbury via the Ridgeway, Avebury, the Vale of Pewsey and Stonehenge. This is the touching, humorous and entrancing day to day tale of their journey based on a diary kept but forgotten for nearly 50 years. It tells of the six weeks they spent living out of doors on frugal means, their hardships and triumphs, their spiritual insights and their musingson life, the universe and everything. The diary's story is enhanced with the reminiscences and observations of the participants as they look back on The Long Walk to Glastonbury fifty years later. Dr Stewart Harding is a landscape historian and campaigner. He has played a major role in the restoration of numerous historic parks and gardens through his work with the Avon Gardens Trust, the Countryside Commission, the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Parks Agency. He was instrumental in the restoration of Stoke Park in Bristol, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Trebah Gardens in Cornwall and Hestercombe in Somerset among many others across the United Kingdom.
