A teen athlete beats his father’s sports record. PAUL ALDRIDGE loses a college scholarship after his over-the-hill sports star dad SONNY is caught betting on a basketball game. They must dodge GANGSTERS who are trying to collect on the debt. Paul argues with Sonny about their impending debacle then leaves home. He is befriended by homeless refugees where BO, a war vet suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome saves him from being beat up. Paul lives in an alley as he trains for a city triathlon. He meets spoiled heiress PAMELA WINTHROP while panhandling for spare change. She asks him to marry her in order to inherit the family estate. Paul refuses saying, "Until he can earn his own money he can’t consider a relationship." Becoming aware of the growing homeless problem in their city, Pamela earns his love after discovering money can’t buy happiness but it will feed a lot of hungry people.
