Reseña del libro

Guarioné M. Díaz was born in Havana, Cuba, and now resides in Miami-Dade, Florida, U.S.A. Between 1964 and 1969, he obtained his Bachelor's degree from St. Francis College as well as an MBA from the University of Columbia, both in New York. In 2010, Diaz was appointed by the Board of Directors of the Cuban American National Council as President Emeritus of the non-profit institution, after serving as President of the same during 33 years. In 1994, the President of the United States appointed him as the civil liaison of the naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he coordinated the delivery of humanitarian services to 30,000 Cuban rafters and 15,000 Haitians interned in the base. He has published dozens of texts and newspaper articles in English and Spanish as well as the first bilingual edition of the World Atlas ( in English and Spanish). In 2007, Diaz was the author of a book in English depicting the experiences of the Cuban Americans in the United States, from 1959 on. Writer and journalist Carlos Alberto Montaner considers that this historical novel, while written in an entertaining matter, still manages to educate the reader. After reading it, one understands the values of Cuba and, at the same time, the reasons for its collapse and failure. Also portrayed is the human quality of its author, Guarioné Diaz, a Cuban-American steeped in the best spirit of service, always ready to help others. We are therefore in the presence of a very useful book.
