The Lecture Notes presents some fundamental situations and problems concerning the disposal of toxic hazardous wastes which have been dealt with in several research projects. The marine evaporites are subject of discussion regarding the underground deposition of hazardous wastes and the long-term safety of underground repositories in salt rocks.
