Teólogo, pastor, autor y conferencista. Hijo de un pastor bautista conservador norteamericano, estudió en el Talbot Theological Seminary (1970). Es pastor de Grace Community Church en Sun Valley (California) una de las iglesias de mayor crecimiento en Estados Unidos y cuenta con un programa de radio «Gracia a Vosotros» que se transmite en varios idiomas. Autor de numerosos comentarios y libros basados en sus sermones, también traducidos a diversos idiomas, figura entre los autores evangélicos conservadores más leídos y apreciados de nuestra época.
