Veterinary medicine is a branch of medicine that is involved in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases, disorders and injuries. Some animal diseases can be transmitted to humans. Such diseases are called zoonotic diseases. They are caused by pathogens like viruses, fungi, parasites and bacteria. Veterinary medicine extends to all domesticated and wild animals, however, specializations may also exist for applications for a specific group of animals such as zoo animals, livestock, laboratory animals or pets. Other specializations in this field include veterinary surgery, internal medicine, dermatology and laboratory animal medicine. This book discusses the fundamentals as well as modern approaches of veterinary science. It aims to shed light on some of the unexplored aspects and the recent researches in this field. As this field is emerging at a rapid pace, the contents of this book will help the readers understand the modern concepts and applications of the subject
