All three become involved in the expatriate Austrian resistance.Joined in exile in 1942 by their cousin, Albrecht Dorfmeister, they by 1944 and 1945, with their native city being bombed by the Americans, find the pull to return home too strong. Separately, the four expatriates sneak across the border to try and help free their countrymen as World War II in Europe comes to an end.
