In the context of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) literature for children, there are few if any texts that touch on chemical engineering as a discipline-despite the crucial role chemical engineering plays in sustaining several core aspects of our daily life (e.g. food and beverage production, development of pharmaceuticals).Most items we use every day are the result of a chemical engineering process-from food and beverages, to deodorant and even toilet paper!
