It allowed our species to thrive and build great civilizations. Agriculture lies at the heart of humanity's finest achievements. Doesn't it? This book explores the developing crisis resulting from the collision of population and resource depletion. Humankind has set itself on a dead end path through an industrial form of agriculture that is dependent upon fossil fuels. The Green Revolution merely delayed the time of reckoning. The author explores the history of technological agriculture and the economic theories that underpin the so-called "progress" that has resulted through the destruction of natural resources.
