Driven has been described as a genre-bending dark comedy psychological thriller. The screenplay tells the story of a struggling young screenwriter who attempts to save a reclusive actress after she undergoes failed cosmetic eyelid surgery as - unknown to the screenwriter - she becomes obsessed with stalking and taking revenge against the womanizing doctor who ruined her. The script has placed in numerous contests, fellowships, and film festivals. Still unproduced, it is being published because some people like reading screenplays the way others read novels. Daniel John Carey is the founder of the Los Angeles-based Screenwriting Tribe screenplay incubation workshop of writers helping writers. Carey also is the author of the "Screenplay Repair Manual." The book has been used as a text in film schools. It was written to go along with David Trottier's "The Screenwriter's Bible." Those interested in writing screenplays are encouraged to study both books, and apply what they learn to their screenplays, before submitting the scripts to managers, agents, producers, development executives, and others in the industry.
