Her first thought was to worry about her family, who had lost Bernie just a few years earlier. Faced with an uncertain future, she was determined not to give in to her fear. She also describes her battle with breast cancer and how the death of her husband left her deeply depressed, to the point of feeling suicidal. But she gradually recovered, and learned to embrace life again. Just a month before her diagnosis, she revealed her that she'd had a facelift, and was starting to date. As all her plans came crashing down, she found the strength to carry on, to look for happiness in the simple things and enjoy every day.
