Reseña del libro "Ignore the Rattlesnake: A Job Search Aid (en Inglés)"
Being unemployed can be a devastating experience, both financially and emotionally. If you are like me, you grew up with an expectation of 'loyalty to the company' and had an expectation of some level of loyalty FROM the company. However, the economic environment of the past few decades has fostered a mercenary corporate mindset; rigidly focused on the 'bottom line' with little regard for the human side of business. Over the course of forty years, I have been on both sides of the interview table. As such, I have some unique perspectives on the interview process. The purpose of this book is to share some of my insights, along with some things to do and to avoid during the job search endeavor. I will use anecdotes, based on actual interview experiences to illustrate some of my points. Eventually, you will understand why you 'Ignore the Rattlesnake'. In forty years of hiring and being hired, I have NEVER hired a loser; all of my hires have turned into 'superstars' often being hijacked by other managers after seeing the quality of the employees I bring in. Usually, I have a good feel before bringing anyone in for an interview. Within the first two or three minutes of the interview, I have made my decision. {While writing this book, my employer of four years decided to 'eliminate' my position. They gave me 25 days notice. By following my own advice from this book, I accepted a job offer, less than two weeks into the job search, with a twenty percent increase in salary.} Note: This book is intended to provide tips to a job seeker and does not imply any guarantee of employment. That is up to you.
