What seems to be an idyllic life is soon abruptly interrupted by a call from a mystery number and a random package on his doorstep encasing a gun and a photograph. When Derek returns the call, he is instructed to kill the man in the photograph or risk having his adulterous double-life exposed to Chrissy, his partner of ten years. Derek reluctantly completes the job for "The Boss" and believes all to be well. However, he soon receives another phone call and a subsequent job to complete and realises that this is only the beginning, what begins as a way to keep his secret soon becomes a lifestyle that he desires and receives great thrill from. After it is revealed that Chrissy has cheated on him with his best friend Mark, Derek kills Mark. Panicked, he calls "The Boss" and declares himself indebted to him. Before Derek knows it, more jobs begin to come his way.
