Home security has turned into an essential part of daily life. The advancement of an intelligent internet based safety measures gives tranquility to the human. In this system RPi board is implemented because the connections to the board can easily be made. The Technologies like IoT, GSM gives quick information sharing so the client can rapidly be cautioned. Now a days, the appliance reaches the common society because the general population accustomed to the mobile technology and internet. In this framework Haar like features are used for face detection, and Local Binary Pattern Histogram for face recognition. This system finds wide application in smart homes in which the owner is not present at homes all the times. When a visitor knocks the door their face is captured using the web camera and picture is mailed to the proprietor. In this way, the proprietor could check the mail and can open/close the entryway physically utilizing the web.
