Martin Popoff es un influyente periodista musical y escritor canadiense, nacido el 28 de abril de 1963 en Castlegar, Columbia Británica. Reconocido como uno de los cronistas más prolíficos del heavy metal, ha escrito más de 100 libros y aproximadamente 7,900 reseñas discográficas, cubriendo géneros como hard rock, classic rock y punk. Su obra abarca desde biografías de bandas icónicas hasta guías de coleccionismo musical .

Popoff cofundó y fue editor en jefe de la revista Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, una de las publicaciones más destacadas del metal en Canadá.
