A very easy read about the life of artist Tirzah Garwood, wife of the war artist Eric Ravilious. Eric's plane disappeared over Iceland leaving Tirzah who was recovering from a mastectomy to bring up their three young children. it highlights attitudes and life in Britain between the inter war years and post WWll. Eautobiogric was only 39 and Tirzah died in 1951 when her cancer returned. One wonders what Eric and Tirzah might have achieved if their lives had not been so tragically cut short.
