This book was written to preserve the unique culture, history and traditions of the people of the Manzano Mountains. It is also a way to educate others about the ever-changing culture of Nuevomexicanos. Here you will find stories about fiestas, matanzas, aguinaldos and the local curandera. There are also many universal themes like the flu epidemic of 1918, drought, educaton and religion.
