The Book of Numbers may seem like a boring book because who enjoys reading about names and numbers.

A closer look at this 4th Book of the Pentateuch finds Israel struggling with Moses' leadership. From the distribution of land to the rules for settlement. All the numbers of the tribes and which order they should march.

This book has the rebellion by Korah and the resulting death of his followers. As a Book of the Law the rules may be found to be difficult to follow and the penalties harsh.

The twelve spies who entered the Promised Land and rejected God's providence, though He promised victory.

The following desert experience until all those who were alive had passed on. A new count to ensure the new generation was left.

Reading this book with children and adults fills in the blanks to stories we speak about, in Sunday School. The questions asked often require personal reflection and discussion.

Praise the Lord for salvation, which frees us from the bondage of the Law while the principle is very valid.
