The southern state of Kerala had maritime business links with the Roman Empire from around 77 CE. Beginning in the mid-18th century and over the next century, large areas of India were annexed by the British East India Company. They left in 1947 after which all of the princely states were annexed into the "Independent" India. This book will give you an insight on what happened to those kingdoms and about the current descendents of the royal families. You never know when you travel in India you might get a chance to rub shoulders with Royalty. I have tried my best to locate the most recent descendents of the Royal Families and given as much information there is for you to locate them.
