Rejoice in Recovery: A 12-Step Faith-Based Program (RNR) is specifically designed for men and women caught in the grip of drug and alcohol addiction. Over the past ten years, this program has been implemented in church and jail-based recovery classes. These programs follow the principles and spiritual values found in the Bible, specifically: The Sermon on the Mount; The Book of James; and 1 Corinthians 13 (Dick B. 2005). Studying the steps, while examining their biblical principles, will guide in discovering why they have been effective and how they can be instructional on our recovery journey. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) include an abundance of personal recovery stories. Why? True-life experiences teach us, in a way no lecture or essay can, how to make changes in our lives that will positively impact our journey on the road to recovery. RNR incorporates the power of biblical stories with the principles and spiritual values of 12-step programs.
