Reseña del libro "Tempus Fugit: The Journey (en Inglés)"
The fourth book in the DEATH SENTENCE series, this one brings it all together - and spins it off in a new direction at the same time. In the previous episode of Death Sentence, the Network time travel reality show crew is forced to scuttle a control room pod that has malfunctioned. They follow standard operating procedures and activate an inaudible homing 'beacon' before returning safely to present day Salem Massachusetts. But along the way, somehow a rogue timeline was created sometime in the past20,000 years. But when? And by whom?In 1622, according to local folklore, a section of the forest on the outskirts of Naumkeag (Old Salem Village) is bewitched. Horses cannot pass its way without being spooked and the villagers believe it is haunted. Quentin Hale, a teacher who immigrated from England, lives nearby. He believes none of the superstitious tales and children's folly surrounding the wooded location. When he and his 12-year-old son, Percival, set out to discover the source of the rumors, they are met with a surprise: a perfectly constructed globe-like object! Under cover of darkness, they drag the strange object home and hide it in the family barn. Risking death by hanging by the fearful and superstitious puritanical leaders of the nearby village, Quentin and his son study the globe and make a written record of it in an old book. But after many frustrating years, they are unable to determine the origin and purpose of the technology from the future. They hide the globe on their property and the book is passed down through many generations of family and subsequent owners, none of whom are able determine the truth behind the story of the strange, indestructible sphere - until WWII veteran and fighter pilot, Walter "Bucky" Stratton, purchases the multi-generational property, and the family plot that goes along with it, in 1951.But Bucky's road to discovery is fraught with obstacles and pitfalls. Even his job in aeronautical design and eventual job as a NASA systems engineer, can't foresee and avoid basic human ineptitude, bureaucratic inefficiency and greed. When the truth about the globe's origin and purpose is finally known, it is the Stratton family who becomes forever haunted by its ultimate fate - one they brought to the world - and a story 400 years in the making.
