In these years, baseball was a family-owned business, not a folder in some rich guy's portfolio. General Managers were former scouts and players, not the nerd with a pocket protector and sinus problems you picked on in elementary school. Players lived in the neighborhood, not in a gated community. Baseball was played during the day, Sundays and holidays were double headers, and the players traveled by train. This version of baseball is frozen in time, never to return.
