The "Steps to Freedom" prayer counselling ministry is the prayer component of the overall Freedom in Christ approach. It is a prayer/repentance or "Truth encounter" model rather than a "power encounter".A facilitator leads the freedom seeker through a seven step process during which the freedom seeker asks the Holy Spirit to bring to mind things from the past that may have opened up points of influence on the enemy in their life. They then say appropriate prayers of repentance and/or renunciation.At the end, when all areas have been covered, the freedom seeker commands the enemy to leave them. Because no legal right remain, the enemy has no option but to leave quietly and the freedom seeker is then much more able to get hold of truth and move on to maturity. Very simple and gentle - but amazingly effective!
