Tom is determined to thwart him as all is not what it seems. He travels to York with the parish priest, Father Michael, to enlist the help of Sir George Percy, second cousin to the powerful 5th Earl of Northumberland. 'The Tale of Thomas Thixendale' is a light hearted historical story which is based upon real characters and events during Henry VII's reign. It is set in the medieval village of Wharram Percy, in the Yorkshire Wolds of England, which was abandoned by 1506 due to the introduction of sheep farming. Black and white illustrations. A glossary includes medieval words and Yorkshire dialect.
