Miembro de la Royal Society of Literature, la Royal Society of Arts y la International Napoleonic Society, Roberts ha escrito bestsellers como La tormenta de la guerra, Napoleón y Wellington, Masters and Commanders, Hitler y Churchill: los secretos del liderazgo y Waterloo.
