Having known Tom McDonald all my life, I can tell you that reading his book is like spending time with him. He captures the rural South with wit and feeling in his recollections of country life. Tom describes real life in the South and reminds me of similar adventures in my own boyhood as well as my more recent misadventures on the farm. I enjoyed every page.
