A sympathetic book suggesting a new approach to urinary tract disorders is long overdue. Half of all women will experience some form of urinary tract disease or discomfort during their lifetime. For too long there has been a tendency to dismiss many symptoms and associated disorders as an inevitable consequence of the aging process or, worse still, as indicators of underlying psychological disease. Until recently there has been only scant attention paid to this very common group of disorders, considering the vast population of sufferers. This concise book is written by one of the few female urologists practicing in the U.S. and in it she explains what these diseases are and what patients can do to get themselves properly diagnosed and treated.
