Reseña del libro "A Stalwart Character: One Man's Journey (en Inglés)"
A STALWART CHARACTER is about New Zealand-born DAVID STALWART, a likeable, hardworking guy in his thirties, living in an Australian outback town in the late 1950's-1960. David lives by himself in a semi-derelict house and does deliveries in an old Dodge truck. He likes living in the outback and enjoys the assortment of local characters, such as 'MAD IRISH', one of the cattle property owners; DORIS CRACKLEHURST, whose sandwiches are like a block of flats. Not to mention CHARLIE BLUNT, a man of gargantuan proportions and a member of the local Cricket team, which has prompted the Club to have a front-end loader on hand at cricket matches...just in case. David is a well-liked character, yet behind his positive exterior, there is a lonely man resigned to the fact that his life will never get any better. He believes that he will probably end up like old TOM DANKWORTH, who sold David the shoddy house and beat-up truck when David was a starry-eyed newbie to the area. Life takes an interesting turn when David meets a SWAGGIE during one of his delivery runs. From that point on, events transpire which shake David's heart and his beliefs in a positive and amazing way. Life turns around, hope soars, joy grows and love blossoms. Join David on his journey and meet wonderful, delightful and amusing characters along the way.
