Abstract:This study was designed to test the applicability of theoretical propositions concerning role conflict and reference group consensus to the role performed by deans of students. The specific purpose was to determine the nature of the relationship existing between reference group role expectations held for the dean and the intrarole conflict perceived by the dean. Also identified were issues on which deans of students and their role-defining reference groups agreed or disagreed fundamentally.Dissertation Discovery Company and University of Florida are dedicated to making scholarly works more discoverable and accessible throughout the world.
