Instead of being used more for tooth health, these zero-calorie sweeteners are becoming more popular due to rising body image awareness and weight loss programs. Manufacturers recommendations for sugar alternatives may be appealing and persuasive, but the public still has many misconceptions and myths about them. The false information that is readily available online could be the cause of this confusion. This review narrates about the common misconceptions about sugar replacements and their use in maintaining oral health.
