Following on from his books about RAF Biggin Hill and Gravesend during the Battle of Britain; Bad Hat Squadron is a day by day diary and history of 29 Squadron (RAF) and their secret Beaufighter night fighters at RAF West Malling in 1941-1943. 29 Squadron were at the forefront of the RAF defence against the night blitz. Resources utilised in this book include the RAF Museum, National Archives and various other biographies. M S Morgan details the crews claims against the Luftwaffe during the Blitz and beyond, while also discussing the high rate of fatal accidents that befell these pioneer night fighters. The book ends on an unusual note, with a chapter on the alleged ghosts and paranormal events that have been reported at the now long gone airfield- something the author kept on encountering during his research.
