The monograph summarizes and systematizes the results of the author's long-term research on the isolation and study of biologically active terpenoids, in particular sesquiterpene lactones from wild and medicinal plants, identification of known and establishment of the structure of new compounds with their further transfer to biological tests. Among them the compounds possessing biostimulating, growth, mutagenic, insecticidal, fungicidal, antifungal and antiviral activity were identified and patents for invention, acts of field and production tests were obtained according to the results of research . Characterization, identification and structure determination of new compounds were carried out on the basis of physicochemical constants, spectral data (IR-, UV-, PMR, mass spectra and HPLC).This monograph, in terms of content and data presented, is avery timely and useful for researchers, professors,doctoral students conducting research in the field of chemistry of natural andphysiologically active compounds, as well as for graduate students and students ofPlant growing, rice growing, cotton growing, silk growing,plant protection, cultivation and processing of medicinal plants.
