broken souls (en Inglés) - Charles Lemar Brown

There are those souls who were broken at such a young age that they do not remember ever being whole. Then, there are those, like me, who managed to make it through their teenage years fairly intact. Back then it had not yet occurred to me that a soul could be broken. Not just spiritual, but mentally, emotionally, and physically. Back then...I was still whole.

Now, these many years later, I look out over humanity and see so many who have tattered and torn souls. Who spend each second of each day doing their best to sew patches into the tears as they pray that the older patches hold.

There are days, as I mend the tears in my own soul, that I am inspired to write a verse or two. Sometimes, the poems are wrought with memories of pain or doubt or bitterness. Other times, they are more light-hearted (my way of making light of some dark day that plagues my soul).

Within this collection of poems, it is my hope that you find at least one poem that lets you know that there are other broken souls in this world and that...you are not alone.
