Reseña del libro "Emily and the Midnight Dragon Courier (en Inglés)"
At exactly 1:14 in the morning, Emily Chen is working another exhausting night in her cramped apartment, analyzing freight routes and corporate shipping data for Verdant Horizon Biotech. Her life is built around numbers, logistics, and fixing discrepancies in a system designed to control nearly every movement through the city. She expects an ordinary late-night shift-until a mysterious courier crashes through her fifth-floor window. The courier is a dragon.Three feet long, covered in charcoal and crimson scales, wearing a customized motorcycle helmet and carrying a scorched thermal delivery pack, the injured creature introduces himself as Ignis Vance-known as Iggy-and demands that Emily sign a delivery waybill for a late-night order of beef lo mein. Before Emily can even process the absurdity of the situation, corporate hunter drones arrive to capture him.Forced into action, Emily helps Iggy survive the attack and discovers that the dragon can transform into a young man. More importantly, she learns that he is not simply a strange creature making illegal deliveries. He is part of the Midnight Courier network, an underground system that operates beyond the control of the corporations dominating the city.Iggy's delivery has made him a target because Verdant Horizon wants to capture and exploit the biological power within him. His Spark-Bound nature is connected to an ancient draconic heritage, and his depleted inner fire leaves him dangerously vulnerable. Emily, whose greatest talents are logistical thinking, problem-solving, and understanding complicated systems, becomes his unexpected protector.Together, Emily and Iggy flee through the city while corporate forces close in. They encounter allies including Clara Windmere, Riley, Stella Moonstone, and members of the independent courier network. What begins as an attempt to save one injured dragon gradually becomes a much larger struggle over the future of the city and the right of living beings to exist outside corporate control.Emily discovers that Verdant Horizon's ambitions reach far beyond capturing Iggy. The corporation has spent decades treating biological life as a resource to be catalogued, patented, and monetized. Iggy represents something the corporation cannot easily control: a living connection to an older world beneath the artificial city.As the chase intensifies, Emily must move from being an analyst who observes systems to someone willing to disrupt them. Her practical knowledge of logistics becomes crucial to the resistance, while Iggy's draconic fire becomes a symbol of the wild power that the corporations have tried to suppress. The final confrontation brings Emily, Iggy, and their allies directly against Verdant Horizon and its leadership. Their victory helps expose the corporation's abuses and breaks the system that has allowed its control to continue. The city begins to change as corporate patents are dissolved, independent couriers regain their freedom, and neglected spaces are transformed by returning vegetation. In the new city, Emily continues working with the courier network rather than returning to the isolated corporate life she once knew. Iggy remains by her side, still delivering food through the night-only now as part of a freer, community-based system.Emily and the Midnight Dragon Courier is a fast-paced urban fantasy adventure combining dragons, underground couriers, corporate conspiracies, and found family. At its heart is a story about choosing connection over control and discovering that one unexpected delivery can change the course of an entire city. Read more
